The spirit is alive with these raucous raccoon critters.?? Shawn Reed & crew crept forth & from their cave on this limited 1,000 copies run & screamed bloody murder before falling under a trance.?? Relentless dizzying gibberish spewed & slobbering over brashy noise rock could???ve easily been the whole damn album.?? But it???s tempered by psych nuances, tinkling bell tones, delayed guitar dreaminess and avant jazz experimentation, especially on the percussive side.?? So it???s not just crazy guitar scrambling & dischord, though that does occur quite a bit.?? They transition into calmer saxophone moods and ritualistic melodic movements.?? It???s always shifting so chants & pounding rhythms return along with loopy lethargic psychedelia.?? Eventually, the animalistic noise frenzy re-enters the equation, drops out a bit, mellows and cycles about in odd patterns & varying tenacity.?? This was re-mastered by Pete Swanson (Yellow Swans) so, sonically, their impact increases significantly.
