This is a wondrous limited re-issue, re-mastered in mono & screaming out mid-60???s sounds from Fenton, Michigan.?? Dave Kalmbach captured the transpiring Fenton Sound as it occurred at the Great Lakes Recording Studio.?? He would release these testosterone teenage garage explosions on his own Fenton Records label.?? In the studio, these ambitious 32 bands soaked up the Beatles vibe and wrung out loud psych-tinged garage pop tunes.?? Jangly guitars, emphatic bass wallops, organ melodies, clean distortion, tight rhythm & lead combos and terrific vocal harmonies told the tale of these idealistic youngsters??? crazy lives during an era of massive social upheaval.?? Bittersweet & upbeat songs about girls, love, loss, growing up & movin??? on is the standard here. This was also back when wild vocal outbursts complimented the songs harmonies & rowdy energy. Hard to believe they accomplished this at such a tender age; an age when hope was instrumental, humor & energy was elemental, the world was laid out before them.?? Excellent 60???s guitar rock!
