Fucking Ocean, the ??? Le Main Rouge A-Library CD {Double Negative}

Panicky post-punk waves crash onto San Francisco???s seashore. Redwood City natives Marcella Gries, John Nguyen, and Matt Swagler surge & swell heavy on the bass, go angular & sideways with the guitar, and pummel out damaged & danceable drum beats while switching vocal & instrumental duties on a whim. Extremely well-executed rhythmic capabilities coupled with relentlessly raw & manic momentum has everything jazzed up & tense as hell on this. Eleven cuts barely surpass 25 minutes total but that???s about right considering the energy level that???s unleashed. The Fucking Ocean has done well not to stagnate, staying refreshingly consistent but variable when fretting so frantically. This is quite good and is both edgy & accessible.
