Largely unknown in the U.S. Gallio studied under Steve Lacy in Paris and performed with Frith and Minton in the 90s. Soprano sax, piano-drums and double bass-trombone in a 1981 Zurich performance.?? From flickering phrases to flowering long-wave extensions, this trio lets you know they’re comfortable with space.??
