Crash Course In Science – “Signals From Pier Thirteen” – [Dark Entries]

HELLO 1981!!!!!!!!! WOW OH WOW OH WOW. The minimal wave crunchy classic which was one of the influences of techno and such, Crash Course In Science’s “Signals From Pier Thirteen” is finally ours. And this one is a pleasure. Think 1981. Think art damage synth power underground club dancing until the sun comes up fuzzy electronic scratchy beats. Think Philly accents, vocals about cardboard lambs and sticking wires into your forehead. Two guys, Dale Feliciello and Michael Zodorozny, one gal, Mallory Ann Yago (looking like a new wave Karen Carpenter). They met in art school (natch), began performing with toy instruments (natch), found cheap drum machines (natch), began making their own synthesizers (na… you get the picture). Two songs with vocals, two instrumentals. Simple repeated lyrics. You know the sound. Now get down and listen to this.
