Heasley, Tom – “Where The Earth Meets The Sky ” – [Hypnos Recordings]

Nothing too complicated about this. Ambient music with weight and shape to it. Large, slow-moving drones, based on the low, resonant frequencies of Heasley’s tuba. He uses looping and processing to extend the notes, seemingly for miles and miles. Sonically huge in scope. I keep envisioning desolate canyons of rock, where every sound echoes and reverberates, as heard perhaps by eagles soaring and circling silently high above.     Gorgeous, centered tuba sound. Makes me want to get mine out again … Does he do any multiphonic playing on the album? Thanks for playing it, Grawer.
