Amps for Christ – “People at Large, the ” – [5RC]

An ongoing solo project by Henry Barnes, also associated with Man is The Bastard and Bastard Noise, among other projects. This CD is all over the place, varying wildly from track to track. Acoustic love songs, abstract noise, brief poetry bits, psychedelic lead guitar, an Olde English ballad, a couple of ragas, two versions of Auld Lang Syne, etc? as with previous AFC releases, eccentricity runs rampant. Some gems here, as well as a few tracks I’d have to describe as filler. A couple of guests appear on vocals, while Barnes plays most of the instruments, including guitar, bass, sitar, banjo, dulcimer, and violin.
