Short weirdball comp to accompany the Zine.
In the article competition, Reynols from
Argentina is the run-away winner, the music
is too close to call. For me it’s probably
Alan Sondheim’s project Damaged Life,
followed by sax subway squealer Tamio
Shiraiki (maybe BART, since it apparently
it was recorded in SF). The Sun City Girls
and Dr. Detroit add some tribal jazz voodoo,
Diz Willis ruptures ribald doo-wop. Ceramic
Hobbs have the most “standard” offering,
catchy and a nice sample to boot. Sukora’s
piece was nearly invisible, while Derek
Bailey’s ad for Incus is clear as can be.
