White Poppy – “Drifters Gold” – [Self-release]

First I found out that the white poppy is a symbol of peace. Then I listened to the gently-strummed instruments, soothing vocals emerging from the dreamy haze, and sensed how apt this name is for Crystal Dorval’s music. Inspired by poems about Hawaii, she creates atmospheres that surround you in healing and allow you to drift to some other dawn of your choosing. These come highly recommended.

Here’s the real review for this one:

It is easy to love sugar, and candy???that???s why imagining a whole mountain of it certainly is heavenly. The music on this CD is like nectar to the ears, better than sugar or candy. It is truly hazy psychedelia, and honestly, the vocals do sound like John Lennon has come back to life. I???d say this is my favorite add to the library in a long time. Will Halsey and Ash Reiter have hit one out of the park with this one. The timing is right to imagine yourself in a seer???s den with warm, earthy hues of enchantment surrounding you and enveloping you in their magical, mystical aura.
