Toy Killers – “Unlistenable Years, The” – [Ug/Explode]

Some early 80s material of downtown skronkster all stars compiled from lost studio tapes and live recordings dug up by the Weasel man, mixed and mastered. The band is centered around the rhythmic wrath of Charles K. Noyes and M.E. Miller and features folks like Elliot Sharp, Nicky Skopelitis, Bill Laswell, Wayne Horvitz among others. Truly legendary UgExplosive free jazz with a hint of disgruntled Naked City fury and some serious Nihilist Spasmic tendencies. A maniacal cuckoo clock funk crock of glam trash and thrashed disco flop horror freakouts, even a drunken samba cameo. I liked the caterwauling cackles and shrieks of Arto Lindsay on 6 of the tracks and each of the guitarists really tear into it. Rumble and crumbling sound improv pieces finish off the album with some spooky appearances from John Zorn and Wayne Horvitz. Straight outta the NYC sewers and into your earhole, for ultimate depraved cavorting.
