Pest – “Pest EP” – [Bird of Ill Omen Recordings]

Sehr nihilistisch Orthodox Black Metal from Hilter (not Hitler) am Teutoburger Wald, Germany. Not to be confused with the Pests from Finland, Sweden, or elsewhere in Germany who also play Black Metal, or any of the Pests in the KFJC library, whatever it is they do. Can no-one use the internet? Maybe this band didn’t use the internet because they wish it was still 1994? Sounds like Vlad Tepes, Burzum, Winterblut, Demoncy, and Peste Noire of old. Kind of got that perplexedly suicidal vibe that is so often present in German BM. Every track here is garnished with an artsy intro and/or outro, except B3 which is an artsy outro. No more releases from Pest now that drummer Mrok is dead, but this 2007 EP catches them at the height of their powers. Wunderbar. Oh yeah: A1 and A2 track together.
