Matmos – “Ganzfeld EP, The” – [Thrill Jockey Records]

This is one of those releases with a fascinating story that makes the listening a richer experience. Based on ESP experiments known as Ganzfeld, these songs are joint creations of the test subjects and the Matmos musicians. Electronic energies enliven the voices in each of these three pieces, with a cacophony of differing voices layering over each other for the finale. My personal favorite is the amplified rubber band of 2, but see which appeals to you most.
