Population Reduction – “Each Birth a New Disaster” – [Tank Crimes]

Stoner party metal music a la two dudes who hail from the “shitty little bumfuck college town” of Oberlin, OH, but thankfully moved out to sunny (ok mostly foggy) San Francisco. Nasty thrashy riffs from guitarist Peter Svoboda who I like to imagine has probably torn his guitar to shreds by the end of each song. The elusive Dr. X on drums, probably destroys his insrument as well.

Lyrics themes range from stoner stuff (Hash Smoking Grind Freaks, Taking Bong Rips in the Tombs of the BLind Dead), to political (Criminal Commercial Consumption, Pheonix Program Revisited), to humourous (Amish Meth Dealer, Road-Age at the Farmer’s Market). Both guys do vocals, which works out well since one is a super deep throat growl, while the other is a wet yell.
