Birds, the “Birds Birds Birds in the World” [Important]

Compositionally beautiful combinations of transcendent ambience & contaminated disquiet. The Birds features Cotton Casino of Acid Mother’s Temple and Per Gisle Galaen of Sloburn/Del comprising a collaborative meshing of Japanese psych and Norwegian minimalist electro-avant garde. There’s a phasing of psychedelic drones, slightly scratchy enveloping noise, perpetual sounds in motion, atmospheric space signals & synthetic blends, and subtle euphoric ambience that drift like a dense fog. These are mostly pleasing modulations and melodic developments but nothing on the highly experimental outskirts. Eerie vocalizations espouse inexplicable beauty and soothing sitar expands easily as an ocean bed of sweet melody ebbs and flows beneath. The floating ethereal simplicity is intermittently interrupted with noisier outbreaks as occasional sonic tsunami waves burst through. It’s shrill & piercing at first, then encircling with oozing buzzing blob sounds. Overall, there is an expressive emphasis on setting a relaxed mood while simultaneously absorbing you into soothing audio environments.
